Hobby Anyone?

Hobbies- there are so many different ones from which to choose. Quilting, knitting, gardening and hiking are a few that come to mind. And Lancaster County offers so much to enhance your enjoyment of each and every one! Perhaps my favorite hobby is eating and boy oh boy is there a bunch of events to satisfy my ‘hunger’ (te-hee) for my hobby. Here is a sampling of what is available:

Chowderfest: April 1st at the Railroad House in Marietta, PA Chowderfest is a competition between restaurants for the best soup, chowder or bisque. An Evening of Matched Pairs: April 2nd at the Lancaster Marriot , Lancaster PA. Local eateries serve samples of their signature dishes paired with wines. Rails & Ales: April 8th at Railroad Museum of Strasburg, Strasburg PA. Wander among train cars while tasting beer from various breweries. The Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania benefits from this event. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rails-ales-tickets-29016759910

Gourmet Gala: May 21st at Excelsior, Lancaster PA. Dozens of food businesses offer food and beverage samples. Live music is also provided. This event benefits the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County. For more information:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rails-ales-tickets-29016759910

Taste the World Lancaster: 2nd Friday of each month April – November in Downtown Lancaster:  Timm Wenger and his wife Kristine run this program through which diners can pay one price to stroll through the city and sample multicultural cuisine at serveral different restaurants.  For the 2017 schedule please see:  ht tp://www.tastetheworldlancaster.com/2017-tours.html

Sips & Bits Stroll: 3rd Friday of each month May – Sept in the 300 Block of North Queen St. Lancaster PA. Visit the shops and enjoy ‘bit’ of food and a ‘sip’ of drink. This benefits Lancaster’s Economic Action for Downtown’s Success. http://downtownlancaster300block.com/events/sips-bits-stroll/

So this is just a sampling of events for the coming months. I personally would like to attend them all! Explore them, research them.
